A Mount Olive woman is being held without bond at the Pender County Jail in Burgaw of four counts of attempted first-degree murder. She is accused of trying to drown her four children, ranging in age from 10 months to three years.

Arrested was 29-year-old Aeisha Milton of Mount Olive, investigators said in a press release.

The children were taken Pender Memorial Hospital and have since been released.

Pender County Sheriff’s Captain James Rowell said the incident occurred on October 25 when they responded to an address in the 9400 block of NC Highway 11 “regarding a mother who was reportedly trying to drown her four children in a bathtub.” Captain Rowell said since it is an “ongoing investigation, no other information will be released at this time.”

Mount Olive Police Chief Tommy Brown said the woman charged “does not ring a bell with local police.”
