GOLDSBORO — To help keep its school communities informed, Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS) is launching a daily dashboard which will reflect which schools and/or district support area sites have had individuals recently on their campuses who have tested positive for COVID-19.
The dashboard will be posted on the district’s website at www.waynecountyschools.org/COVID-19Dashboard.aspx.
It will be updated Monday through Friday by 6 p.m. with daily cases for that week remaining posted until the following week. Cases reported over a weekend will be posted the following Monday.
While general notices are not required, WCPS began communicating COVID-19 alerts after teachers, students and parents returned in August.
The dashboard, which is replacing the app/Facebook alerts, will make it easier for the public to see daily totals at a glance over the course of a week, according to district leaders.
Staff at impacted schools or sites will still be alerted by email, families will still be notified through the school’s call system, and all NCDHHS guidelines will continue to be followed.
