The Mount Olive Town Hall complex will close at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, due to scheduled maintenance work with Duke Power.
The utility company plans to replace transformers serving the complex.
Town Manager Charles Brown said the closure will affect the offices of the mayor, town manager, inspections, cemetery, parks and recreation, police department, town clerk and the water department.
Brown said he was thankful for Duke Power upgrading the town’s electrical infrastructure to better withstand severe weather events that happen all too often.
He said other interruptions are expected in the weeks ahead as the utility company continues its plan for upgrading services to Mount Olive customers.
Announcements will be made of the interruptions as they are scheduled by the power company, Brown said.
