Man accused of threatening to blow up school found hiding in home

A man accused of calling in a bomb threat at Southern Wayne High School is in custody after deputies say they found him hiding in a Dudley home Thursday.

A warrant was issued for 18-year-old Taheim Rashad Leach on Oct. 18 after officers say they were able to trace the call made to the school on Sept. 26, back to him. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help to locate Leach last week.

On Thursday, a resident notified the sheriff's office that Leach was inside a Wayne County home, according to a WCSO release.

Officers say they found Leach hiding inside the home after they entered.

Leach of 102 Waldrop Road, Dudley is charged with making a false bomb report to a public building.

He was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $7,500 secured bond.
