Happy birthday, Aunt Niecy Weeks on May 23, Carolyn Allen on May 24, Pastor Janice Williams on May 6, Clintonia Lee on May 15, Willis Smith on May 7, Pastor Gertie Stevens of Newton Grove on May 26, Clara Coley on May 28 and Stevie Ward on May 28. Happy 12th anniversary to Ronald and Dorothy Inez Ward on May 31 from yours truly, Elder Kenneth Freeman, the St. Luke Church family and from your sisters and brother.

Happy anniversary also to LaTonya Sasser of Goldsboro on May 16 from your parents, Greg and Katholeen Galloway and Glenda Ward Davis on May 29. Our prayers, sympathy and love are with brother Linwood Darden’s family. Darden died Monday morning at the VA Rehabilitation center in Kinston. He was a gospel recording artist, a lead singer for Women On The Move for the Lord, a member of New Beginning Gospel Choir and founder and president of the St. Luke Male Chorus. Darden was my faithful right hand and left hand at my side. He will surely be missed.

A home-going celebration will be held for Darden on Wednesday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at Goshen Disciple Church in Faison where the Pastor is Elder Donald DeWitt.

Please keep Darden’s family in prayer. To each and everyone who has called and sent messages in regards to praying for Women On the Move thank you, but my sidekick is singing in the heavenly choir with my other babies, Lionel Graham and Kirk Smith. They were in the St. Luke Male Chorus that Linwood formed.

I would like to thank each and everyone who attended the elegant 25th banquet for Pastor Janice Williams which was held May 18 at St. Luke Church’s fellowship hall. What an awesome, beautiful celebration.

A special thank you to Elouise, Margie Jenita, Louise and Javone, Elder James Crawford, Kanus, Caroletha Langley, Renee Faircloth and to Phat Girlz Catering of Wilson for the delicious food and plenty of food. Pastor Janice Williams sends a hearty thank you to each and everyone and especially to Elder Kenneth and Mother Vesta Freeman, Elderess Velma McKinley and to Minister Carl Faison. Thank you, Keisha Monk, for the beautiful program.
