Several events are coming up at local churches:
Calling all mothers, sisters and women of God: It’s harvest time at Howell Chapel Church Of Christ, 214 E. Preston St., Selma at 10 a.m. Saturday with lady elect Elder Shannon Dean serving as speaker and mentor. For more information, contact Elder Cassandra Stancil. Howell Chapel Church of Christ will celebrate its 115th church anniversary and homecoming at 11 a.m. Sunday with guest preacher Bishop Terrance Jenkins and Interstate Ministries Church and congregation of Clayton rendering the service. The pastor Elder Calvin Dean invites all to come and fellowship.
Smith Chapel FWB Church invites you to worship every first and third Sunday at 11 a.m. with Elder Herman Bell delivering the message and the choir providing the music. At 3 p.m. on Sunday a Pre-Thanksgiving Musical Concert will be held at the church with several groups on the program. Smith Chapel Church of Warsaw invites all to come and fellowship. Bible study is held every Wednesday at 7 p.m.
St. Luke Church of Christ, 636 Waller Road, will host a worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday with the New Beginning Gospel Choir rendering the music and Elder Kenneth Freeman delivering the message. Sunday school is held at 9:45 a.m. and Bible study is at 7 p.m. every Wednesday.
Life Changers Kingdom Ministries, 270 Motorcycle Road, Clayton will celebrate Apostles Leroy and Francine Hargett’s 28th pastoral anniversary Nov. 20-22 and Dec. 1 with the following schedule: Pastor Delois Waddell will lead the service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20; Apostle Aaron McNair Sr. will lead the service Thursday; and Pastor Damion Royall will render the service Friday. On Sunday, Dec. 1 at 10:15 a.m., apostle Dr. Sharon Sanders will climax the celebration. Life Changing Ministries invites each of you to come and help celebrate. Happy anniversary!

Thanks and prayers
Our prayers and sympathy are with Carl and Gwendolyn Oates who lost their son Nikki Oates on Sunday, Nov. 3 at New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. A homegoing memorial celebration was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nikki’s home church in Wilmington, with family and friends from Holy Temple Church, Calypso. Nikki died from complications of liver failure. Carl and Gwen Oates would like to send a special thank you to many of you for the many phone calls, your prayers, your thoughts of kindness or whatever part you have played to comfort the family in this difficult time. Please keep the Oates and Walls families in your prayers.
