Don’t forget Family Reunion Fun Day

Elder Scottie Rogers would like to thank each and everyone who attended Family and Friends Day on the morning of Sept. 8 at Holy Temple UHC in Calypso. A special thank you also to the guest preacher and the Pearsall Chapel UHC Choir, usher and congregation of Kenansville. Elder Ernest Watson Sr. and the St. James Church Family say thank you to each and everyone who attended the homecoming and memorial service celebration in which Evangelist Tonya Sloan of Greensboro served as guest preacher and the St. James Church choir rendered the music.

Several events are coming up at local churches:

  • The 125th Holy Convocation continues through Sept. 21 at Love Temple United Holiness in Goldsboro where the Vice Bishop Devin Pickett is delivering the message. The convocation was set to host special guest preacher Dr. Jamal Bryant, singer Rev. William Murphy and more. Join Love Temple this week in its convocation.
  • Goldsboro Raleigh Assembly invites you to join them from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday for Family Reunion Fun Day with games, activities, live entertainment, a step competition, health screenings, a dunking booth for the Bishops and food truck vendors.   • Parkers Chapel OFWB Church, 312 Fedelon Trail Road, Goldsboro invites you to a prepastoral prayer breakfast honoring Elder Doretha Brown at 9 a.m. Saturday with guest preacher Elder Tracy Joyner. The Parkers Chapel Church family invites you to come and show love to Brown and enjoy breakfast and fellowship.   • Best Chapel Church on Indian Spring Road will celebrate Womens Day at 11 a.m. Sunday with guest preacher Minister Kristie Wells of Holy Ghost Cathedral Church delivering the word. The pastor, Elder Clifton Jones, and the women of Best Chapel Church invite each of you to come and help celebrate. A worship service is held at the church every second and fourth Sunday at 11 a.m. with Bible study and prayer meetings on Monday at 7 p.m.
  • Little Rock Church of Christ, 1307 N.C. Highway 581, Pikeville will celebrate its 139th church anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday with the Pastor Elder Rodney Core set to deliver the message and music by the choir. The church family invites each and everyone to come and fellowship. Dinner will be served at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 with a fellowship celebration at the church with 10 other congregations participating.
  • Paynes Temple AMEZ Church on Center Street will host a homecoming service on Sunday at 3 p.m. with special guest Rev. Ronald Miller and the St. James AMEZ Church choir, usher and congregation of George Street in Goldsboro rendering the service. Dinner will be served.   • St. James Disciple of Christ in Fremont invites you to worship at 11 a.m. Sunday and at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29 with Elder Tony Sutton delivering the message and the choir providing the music. Elder Tony Sutton is pastor of the church.
  • Smith Chapel MB Church in Warsaw will celebrate its pastor Elder Herman Bell at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 with special guest Rev James Jackson, the Walker Chapel Church Choir, ushers and congregation of Watha leading the service. Sis Nannie Barfield and the Smith Chapel Church family invite each of you to come and show love. An appreciation service celebrating 18 years of community service by yours truly, Glenda Ward, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 with special guest Bishop Richard Johnson, the St. Peters Church choir, usher and congregation of Smithfield rendering the service. Please let’s keep Carolyn Allen in our prayers for she is one of the coordinators of the program, but she also fell at church and had to have surgery on her leg on Monday, Sept. 9. She will recover at Rehabilitation Facility at Willow Creek Nursing facility.
  • Holy Ghost Cathedral Church, 812 E. James St., will celebrate its pastor, Apostle Preston’s and Co-Pastor Jesse Grimes’ 35th pastoral anniversary and 45 years in ministry at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 with guest preacher Pastor Marlene Duncan and the Holy Temple UHC choir, usher, and congregation of Goldsboro rendering the service. A worship service is held every Sunday morning at 11:30 with the choir rendering music.
  • New Life Worship Center, 218 Maple St., invites you to worship with its congregation every first, second and fourth Sunday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Janice Williams delivering the message. Evangelist Mary Applins will be the guest preacher at the church at 11 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Janice Williams invites you to come and fellowship.
