Cromartie Jr. named new principal at Mount Olive MS

Edward “EJ” Cromartie, Jr., has been named principal at Mount Olive Middle School.

The Wayne County Board of Education approved the change during its regularly-scheduled monthly meeting.

Cromartie has 15 years of public education experience. He’s served as an assistant principal at Brogden Middle, North Drive Elementary and Eastern Wayne MS.

“Mr. Cromartie is a passionate school administrator who has proven himself as an effective leader," said Dr. David Lewis, interim superintendent of Wayne County Public Schools.

“Mr. Cromartie is already very familiar with Mount Olive Middle and its staff. Our district's leadership team will support him during his transition to ensure a smooth transition for the school.”

Cromartie holds a bachelor’s degree in middle grades education and a master’s degree in executive leadership. He has taught at MOMS and Goldsboro High School.

An official date has not been set for the administrative change.
