Mount Olive authorities applied and received approval for COVID-19 reimbursement expenses, and a request for additional funding is in the process.
The town got $4,000 to cover expenses for personal protective gear, hand sanitizers and other expenses.
Since then, Town Manager Charles Brown said there have been other expenses for installation of protective shields in two town hall offices and upgrading the shield in the water department.
Mount Olive Town Hall is also sanitized every weekend.
Brown said those expenditures are expected to cost between $6,000 and $8,000. He said submission for additional funding may get put on hold since sanitizing Town Hall is an ongoing expense.
“We will probably wait until we have all the expenses in hand before turning it in,” he said.
The reimbursement funds come from the county that is handling federal disaster recovery monies.
