Arts Co. productions are planned

The Arts Co. of Faison will present Snow White and Alice in Wonderland on Saturday, April 19, at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro .

Snow White will be performed at 5 p.m. and Alice in Wonderland at 6:30 p.m.

The cost will be $7 per person and covers admission to both shows. Tickets are now on sale and may be purchased by calling (910) 267-0425.

Carver Alumni will meet on April 12

The Mount Olive Chapter of the Carver High School Alumni and Friends Association will meet on Saturday, April 12 at 5 p.m. in the alumni building on the old Carver High School campus at 612 S. Breazeale Avenue in Mount Olive .

Conference for caregivers to be held

The North Carolina annual Conference for Caregivers of Young Children will be held Saturday, April 12, from 7:45 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Greenville Hilton Hotel in Greenville .

Participants may earn up to five credit hours.

First Baptist to have BBQ fundraiser

A barbecued pork and chicken fundraiser will be held Saturday, April 12, in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church of Mount Olive, corner of John and Chestnut Streets in Mount Olive .

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 7 p.m.

The cost will be $6 per plate, eat-in, take-out or drive-through.

Proceeds will go towards the Fishers of Men’s 2008 Honduras Mission Trip.

E-bay for beginners to be held at WCC

Wayne Community College at Goldsboro will offer a free seminar on “Easy Steps to e-bay for the Novice” on Thursday, April 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the college.

The seminar is designed to jump-start the beginner into the world of e-bay by providing ideas of what to sell and how to find new items that will sell.

Dudley Christian to have “fun raising”

A “fun raising” fundraiser will be held at Dudley Christian Church, 212 O’Berry Road in Dudley on Sunday, April 13 at 6 p.m.

There will be a barbecued pork and chicken supper with an auction and entertainment to follow.

Nurses’ refresher courses to be offered

Wayne Community College will offer a Medication Aide and a Nurse Aide Refresher course in April.

Classes will be held 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 19 and 26, and 5 to 9 p.m. on April 21, 23 and 25.

The refresher course will be held 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, April 29 through May 15.

Students may register and pay the $55 fee at the first class or in advance.

Motorcycle ride to benefit Relay for Life

The Zion Marchers Relay for Life Team of Zion United Methodist Church at Pricetown, 1994 Zion Church Road about eight miles east of Mount Olive, will sponsor its second annual Ride-for-A-Cure motorcycle ride on Saturday, April 19.

Registration will start at 9 a.m. and the ride will begin at 11 a.m. at the Cliffs of the Neuse State Park near Seven Springs. The event will include lunch and door prizes.

All proceeds will go to Wayne County Relay for Life program of the American Cancer Society.

ESL orientation to be held at JSCC

James Sprunt Community College at Kenansville will hold English as a Second Language (ESL) orientation for the summer semester on Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m. at the Warsaw Adult Education Site, 422 N. Front Street in Warsaw .

The session is required for any student wishing to attend the ESL class at that site. The class will be held May 12-August 7, Monday through Thursday, from 7-9 p.m.

CPR class being offered at JSCC

James Sprunt Community College will be offering the American Heart Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course for healthcare providers April 9 from 5 to 10 p.m. and on April 12, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Students must pre-register. The course fee is $55.

Senior Fun Day to be held in Kenansville

Duplin County Services for the Aged, in celebration of National Senior Center Week, is hosting a Senior Fun Day picnic on Wednesday, May 14 at the Kenansville Municipal Park in Kenansville.

In the event of inclement weather, activities will be held Wednesday, May 21 at the same location. Senior Fun Day events and activities begin at 9:30 a.m. and the program will follow at 11:15 a.m.

Some of the activities scheduled are short and long walk-a-thons, basketball throw, horseshoes, bingo, old-time trivia, a cakewalk, and a picnic-style lunch.

Duplin County Board of Elections to meet

The Duplin County Board of Elections will meet Friday, April 11, at 9 a.m. in the Elections Office, 160 Mallard St. in Kenansville.

The board will prepare for the upcoming primary.
