Casper, Reaves united in marriage on September 17
30 October 2008 – Melissa Dawn Casper and Christopher Aaron Reaves were united in marriage on September 17th, 2008 at 5 o’clock in the evening at the home of the bride’s parents. The Reverend Tony Glass officiated the double-ring ceremony, with only immediate family present. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Melissa and Chris renewed their vows in front of family and friends on October 5th, 2008 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon outside at Porter’s Neck Country Club in Wilmington. The Reverend Tom Kendall officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride was escorted down the isle by her mother & met her father at the end of the isle, where both parents gave her away.
The bride is the daughter of Susan Casper of Walstonburg, and the late Thomas Casper. She is the granddaughter of Doris McKeel of Walstonburg, and the late Fitz McKeel Sr. and Lois and Clyde Casper.
The groom is the son of Dickie and Brenda Reaves of Mt. Olive. He is the grandson of the late James and Pattie Reaves and Margie & Sam Mann.
Mrs. Shannon Holloman of Walstonburg, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Jayne Cleve of Greenville; Mrs. Laura Miller and Mrs. Melissa Robinson both of Grimesland; Mrs. Angela Lovett of Nebo; and Mrs. Jennifer Phillips of Wilmington. Miss Lindsey Holloman, niece of the bride, was Junior Bridesmaid. Camren Grace Reaves, daughter of the couple, was flower girl.
Mr. Dickie Reaves, father of the groom, was best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Jeff Cernugel, Mr. Richard Joyce, and Mr. Hayden Von Wald all of Wilmington; Mr. Cory Shivar of Texas; and Mr. Brian Reeves of California. Mr. Nicholas Holloman, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.
Program attendants for the wedding were Mrs. Mindy Denton and Mrs. Blake Whaley both of Greenville. The wedding director was Ms. Nicki McLaughlin of Wilmington.
The reception immediately followed the ceremony at Porter’s Neck Country Club.
The bride is a graduate of Greene Central High School. She received her Bachelors degree in Accounting and her Master’s in Business Administration from East Carolina University. She is a Financial Analyst for Time Warner Cable in Wilmington.
The groom is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He received his Associates degree in Business from Pitt Community College. He is an Outside Salesman for Builder’s First Source in Wilmington.
