Wayne County Sheriff's report
2 October 2008 – Dorothy Mae James of Seven Springs reported on Monday, Sept 22 at 5:18 p.m. that she left her wallet on the Post Office counter and someone took it. The person stole $120 in US currency, her NC driver’s license, her social security card, and her Medicaid card. The blue wallet itself was worth $20.
Susan Darlene Lancaster of Mount Olive made two reports this past week. On Wednesday, Sept 17 at 6:10 p.m. she reported that someone removed a woman’s purple 10-speed bicycle from under the carport that was worth $75. On Saturday, Sept 20, Lancaster reported that a purple child’s bicycle worth $100 was stolen from under the shed.
Debbie Jernigan, 41, of Pikeville, NC reported Friday, Sept 12 at 10 a.m. that someone removed $35 from her purse while at work.
Jon Casey, 53, of Goldsboro, NC reported Monday, Sept 15 at 8:36 a.m. that someone stole his wallet and took $22.
On Thursday, Sept 11 at 10:25 a.m., Office C. B. Shaeffer was called to Seven Springs Baptist Church to investigate a report of damaged and stolen property. Someone took apart the air conditioning units and took the condensing units and the copper, which were worth $1,000. $20,000 worth of damage was caused to the Trane units.
Arrests
Katia Shernell Kornegay, 29, of 126 E Main St. Apt 2B, Mount Olive, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept 23 at 6:15 p.m. for one misdemeanor count of failure to appear for driving while license revoked. Kornegay’s bond was set at $500 secured and her next court date is Dec 12.
Michael Jerome Bowden, 28, of 514 S Chestnut St., Mount Olive was arrested Tuesday, Sept 23 at 8:30 p.m. for two misdemeanor counts of assault on a female. He is currently being held at the Wayne County Detention Center. Bowden’s bond was set at $1,000 secured and his court date is Oct 7.
Danielle Marie Hornby, 21, of 7409 Hwy 41 Wallace, NC was arrested on Monday, Sept 15 at 10:45 a.m. for one felony count of receiving stolen goods and one felony count of possessing stolen goods. Hornby’s bond was set at $100,000 secured. She is in the Duplin County Jail.
Andre Monterio Todd, 20, of 149 Edenton Rd. was arrested on Friday, Sept 12 at 1:50 p.m. at the Corner of Beale and Elm Sts. for one misdemeanor count for failure to report an accident, one count of reckless driving to endanger, and one count of learner’s permit violation. Todd’s bond was set at $34,000 secured and his trial date is Sept 24.
Ronnie Lee Stokes, Jr., 24, of 900-A S. Johnson St., Mount Olive was arrested Friday, Sept 12 at 5:15 p.m. at his job site of Franklin Bakery. Stokes was arrested for one count of failure to appear for possession of marijuana up to one-half oz., three counts of failure to appear for driving while license revoked, and one count of failure to appear for discharging a firearm within city limits. Stokes’ bond was set at $4,000 and his trial dates are Oct 24 and Oct 27.
Anthony Tyrone Kornegay, 43, of 1011 SE Center St., Mount Olive was arrested on Monday, Sept 15 at 10 a.m. for 3 misdemeanor counts of nonpayment of child support. Kornegay’s bond was set at $3,300 secured and his trial date is Oct 6.
Thomas Lyndale Wicks, 38, of 206 Brentwood Dr., Dudley was arrested on Tuesday, Sept 16 at 12:15 p.m. for one misdemeanor count of driving while license revoked. Wicks’ bond was set at $500 secured and his trial date is Oct 6.
