Butterball executive wins distinguished service award
4 September 2008 –Jerry Johnson, Director of Purchasing for Butterball, LLC in Mt. Olive took home the prestigious Distinguished Service Award at the NC Poultry Federation’s 41st Annual Banquet and Awards event August 7.
Jerry has chaired NCPF’s Membership-Sponsorship Committee for several years, being responsible for both coordinating membership and sponsorship efforts and securing the majority of both new and renewing memberships and sponsorships. “Jerry has played a crucial role in keeping this foundation going year after year,” said Bob Ford, Executive Director for NCPF. “His tireless efforts and good personality result in countless memberships, and he truly deserves to be recognized by this organization for that.”
Jerry has been associated with the poultry industry since 1969 where he began his career in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia; he later moved to North Carolina to work for Carolina Turkeys. Now at Butterball, Inc., he approaches his 21st year as a North Carolina resident.
The North Carolina Poultry Federation has been the voice of the North Carolina poultry industry since 1968. Serving producers and processors of chicken, turkey and egg products, the Federation provides a united voice for the industry.
