03 July 2008–Taylor Stewart, a rising 7th grader at Clayton Middle School, will be attending the 2008 Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C., this summer. Students are nominated by their home schools for attendance. The purpose of the JrNYLC is to honor and inspire the most exceptional middle school students in the nation, distinguished by their academic excellence, leadership potential and maturity, and to reinforce the virtues of leadership, citizenship and democracy using Washington, D.C. as their classroom. The Conference includes lectures from leaders in business and politics, visits to national monuments and museums in the Capital and the opportunity to meet and study with other student leaders from across the nation.
