School system honors retirees03 July 2008– After many years of dedicated service to Wayne County Public Schools, 80 retiring employees were recognized on Wednesday, June 18, at the district’s annual Retiree Appreciation Reception, held at the Goldsboro Country Club. Thelma Smith, Board of Education Chair, and Dr. Steven Taylor, Superintendent, commended the retirees for their commitment to students and education, and wished each of them well in their future endeavors.
