From Tee to Green

26 June 2008 – Golf News by Peggy Hester

For the first time ever, three Southern Wayne Country Club ParChasers walked away with the top three spots in the annual Ladies Invitational. Congratulations to Pat Kendall on snatching the championship title with a 76. Lynn Sox placed second and Terry Columbus placed third.

Ann Bryan, Benjie Fowler and Novella Zambelli won first, second and third low net, respectively, in the championship flight, and Dorothy Winwright won low putts.

The First Flight was won by Libby Newsome. Second low gross was won by Mary Ann Sutton, and Janice Edwards won third place. First low net was won by Cherie Davis. Bridgette Benedict won second place and Carol Faucette placed third. Carol Mann won low putts.

The second flight was won by Betty Jean Gurley. May Young won second place and Patsy Matthews was third. First low net was won by Joyce Rasmussen. June Hurt won second place and Judy Sayko was third.

The third flight was won by Jackie Fiala, second place was won by Carolyn Strickland and third place went to Belinda Summerlin. First low net was won by Kathy Russell. Eliene Henderson won second place and third place was won by Sylvia Gainey. Low putts in this flight was won by Jean Overton.

Congratulations to Billy Holliday on making a hole-in-one on hole No. 11 on May 18. Billy was playing with Jim Saint Amand, Chris Whitley and Mitchell Jones.
