Couple to wed August 2nd 
Mr. and Mrs. Kenny O. Edwards announce the engagement of their daughter, Meredith Carter Edwards of Newport News, Va. to William Leland Holt of Williamsburg, Va. William is the son of Fenton Bryant Holt of Hunterdale, Va.
Miss Edwards is a 2001 graduate of Southampton High School and a 2005 graduate of Christopher Newport University, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in childhood psychology. She earned a master’s degree in elementary education from Christopher Newport in 2006. She is currently employed as a first grade teacher with the Newport News Public Schools at Saunders Elementary School.
Miss Edwards is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Edwards of Branchville, Va. and Mr. and Mrs. Norwood Ezzell of Mount Olive.
Holt is a 2001 graduate of Southampton High School and a 2005 graduate of the College of William and Mary, where he received a bachelor of science degree in finance. He is a 2008 graduate of the College of William and Mary School of Law. He is employed by the law firm of Kaufman and Canoles in Williamsburg, Va.
An August 2 wedding is planned.
