Dr. Kornegay earns his MD degree

19 June 2008 – Jonathan Hargett Kornegay graduated from the Brody School of Medicine on Saturday, May 10, 2008.

Kornegay is a 2000 graduate of North Duplin Junior-Senior High School, and graduated magna cum laude with university honors from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2004. Dr. Kornegay

Dr. Kornegay is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Hervy B. Kornegay, Sr. of Calypso, and the grandson of Mrs. Hazel Waters Kornegay and the late Mr. Adolph Kornegay, and the late Mr. Hervy Battle Kornegay and Mrs. Edwina Sutton Kornegay, all of Calypso.

He will begin a four-year residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, in July.

Dr. Kornegay follows his three older brothers, Dr. Hervy Kornegay, Jr. of Goldsboro, Dr. Chad Kornegay of Greenville and Dr. Todd Kornegay of Greenville, as a graduate of East Carolina University and the Brody School of Medicine.
